Why this blog is called Busby SEO Test Blog? It used to be Anne Ahira blog. First, there is something I have to admit about this blog. This is the story about why this blog is created.

The first time I created this blog, is because I want to join AsianBrain’s what is called HSEOG 2007. What in the world is that? HSEOG stands for Hyperactive Search Engine Optimization Games. It is a yearly competition (I guess) that held by AsianBrain Internet Marketing Center to encourage the students to learn SEO. One of the rules in this competition is, you may not mention that the blog is in an SEO games (competition). So I never mention it in any post in this blog (except now, because the competition is over). The keyword given was Anne Ahira, so I keep on posting articles about her. The SEO game went for 1 year. It was a tiring long road, but finally I made it. I ended the game well. I won the first price!

Related in working with this Anne Ahira blog, do you feel that your topic (niche) is getting more readers, more page rank or… higher position on google search maybe? Or sometime you feel like you deserve more visitors than other because you think your content is better. Well, there is no reason to think that way, especially if they are only providing free content to generate income. Both of you are not selling anything, when visitor decide to buy something, they will go to specific source. Most blogs provide content only to attract visitors, and they monetize their blogs by ad revenue or affiliate. Readers follow these blogs because they give information or entertainment they need. This is not about many blogs writing about the same topics, but it’s about getting attention. Each visitor need specific information. When you search on search engines or other social media, you will only stop to read a specific article because it relevant to your interest. Otherwise you will go to the next related one. So, if I will say that your real competitors are not other blogs but the relevancy of content. As long as readers see the content is relevant, they will go back and stay close to our blog, and it creates opportunities to sell. It also make the higher probability for them to click our ad. But, there is more you need than only a relevance content. Content must be interesting by providing a value on top of what people already know. Content differentiation and idea aggregation is the way to blog effectively. Now, here is what I do to make this blog interesting (at least in my opinion). I collect ideas from many sources and combine them, view them from different perspective, so this is basically unique content from TEDDY SISWANTO, Uhm..! or ANNE AHIRA. Image : African bongos antelope. Taken from : e-picworld What you want is attention. The other bloggers with the same niche (topic) is your asset you can use. Don’t treat them as competitors. Internet is big enough for everyone. Build relationship with them, be friend and build win-win relationship. It is good to work with another bloggers, recommending your content to his or her audience. There is nothing better than another blogger personally recommending your content to his or her audience. Seek these recommendations by working with other bloggers, not against them. I am Teddy Siswanto, hoping you to get more readers, more traffic and of course more revenue.

For optimizing this Anne Ahira blog, I also use social media to get connected to their communities. After using social media sites for sometime, I started to feel a sense of belonging with the community. Social media is the place where people share their stories, news, jokes among their community. This is also the place where some individuals influence other users by their personal opinion about particular story.

To become popular of an entire social community, you need to get into everything that matters to them, both individually and collectively. Your mastery of community must show your understanding about, not only their interests but also about the social media itself. This is not an easy task to do.

Many viral marketers have tried to use social media like Digg by creating and spreading relevant content through influencers, active social media with strong reputation and community commitment. If it is well done, the popularity will be achievable. Problem : The topic or interests are various. No matter how brilliant you are, you will only talk about interests of a segment, not the whole community. So how do you win the heart of all the community?

The answer is simple : You can tap the community brand and also the individual. In this case, the community brand is Digg and the individual is Diggers. This two labels are familiar to all users without exception. No topical barriers to overcome and each user is naturally interested in the content related to the community and the individual. This is the way you win their hearts or at the very least their attention or support.

Here is an interesting example, Kina Grannis and Gotta Digg: Viral Marketing Through Digg.com Kina Grannis is an American singer participating in Crash The Super Bowl, a contest to get an Interscope recording contract and a chance to air a 60 second music video during the Superbowl. She will get to the final round, based on the public vote. What Kina did was to write a song about Digg and perform it while recording it on a video, which was then submitted to Digg last night with the title Cute Girls Sing Awesome Song About Digg. As you can probably imagine, the song did incredibly well and got to the Digg frontpage in 1 hr and 12 minutes.

The video was located on her blog post, which includes a plea for votes from the digg users who visited her page to view the video, which you can see below:

And here is the lyrics of the song.

When Im feeling lazy, at school or when I work
I sneak to my computer, and then I like to shirk
I don’t go online shopping, I don’t email with my mom
I open up my browser, and go to digg-dot-com

Chorus:
Gotta digg, gotta digg, gotta digg
Gotta make this story big!
Did you hear that awful sound? Another servers down!

I always dig up Apple, and I bury Microsoft
But when I said I was a girl, all the diggers scoffed
And when I see those stories about Senator Ron Paul
I don’t even RTFA; I just digg them all!

(back to chorus)

The fanboys can be tiresome, they always are outspoken
And if you’re listening Kevin Rose, the comment systems broken!
I know digg isn’t perfect, but be thankful for what we’ve got
Its just like daddy always says: At least its not Slashdot!!!

(back to chorus)

The response was incredible. Everybody loved the song and marveled at how girls like Kina seemed to be a fan of Digg. Most of users thought Kina was cute girl with a great voice. The story was then picked up by Techcrunch and Techmeme, which probably helped the video to spread even further.

At the moment now, the video has over 70,000 views and is on the second page of Youtubes Most Viewed Today list. So, what do you think about this story? May be you can use it to spread your idea and get attention from social media communities in order to achieve popularity. One of the success story that inspires me is from BusinessWeek, about Accidental Intrepreneur, Eric Nakagawa. It was started by a post of a single photo of a smiling cat, with a caption “I can has cheezburger?” which was only ment to be a joke. What happened after that was unpredictable. The website was starting to get a lot of hits, so he turned it into a blog. Only two months later, the visitors reached 375.000, and 750.000 on the following month, and 1.500.000 after that. The visitors got double every month. Cheezburger now gets 500,000 page views a day from between 100,000 and 200,000 unique visitors, according to Nakagawa. The cheapest ad costs $500 for a week. The most expensive goes for nearly $4,000. Nakagawa, an accidental entrepreneur who saw his successful business materialize out of the ether, quit his programming job at the end of May: “It made more sense to do this and see how big it could get.” The benefits of blogging (especially earning) continues to fascinate many entrepreneurs who understand the economic advantages. An increasing number of blogs earn faster than the cost needed. The bloggers can self-finance the blogs they have without any investor to join. Blogs have a Simple, Low Cost and Direct Revenue Business Model Making a blog is very simple. All you need is only to pay for a domain name, an internet connection and a web hosting. You can make it even lower if you choose to use a free web hosting services The profit just depend on one simple factor : Traffic. The more people visit your website, the more money you can earn, and I believe Anne Ahira-mania, we are all on this purpose. Right? Let’s ‘kembali ke laptop’ (back to the topic). Why you should start a blog, if you don’t want to make money from it? Well, see this picture below. This is a traditional food called lentog. You can find them mostly in Kudus, Jawa Tengah. I like to eat lentog. Having lentog in Kudus with its sensational taste brings a particular nostalgic feeling to me This is what I am going to tell you. In our daily life, people see you and categorize you by what can be seen, like your clothing, your physical appearance, the way you behave and do things. In online world, people has no physical appearance or personality, unless you show it. A personal website is like your hone base. It is like a virtual of yourself. It allows you to develop a recognizable style, personality and form. You can now be categorized, understood and appreciated. Blogs and profiles in social networking sites achieve this aim. An online identity, to build relationships with others on the web. Having a blog makes it so much easier to develop familiarity and build relationships, to let people know where you’re coming from. It is possible for you to build relationship, supporting each other to develop a remarkable idea to make profit in the future. Blogging for income If someone asked me what to do to make money online, I will definitely recommend him/her to start a blog, because blogs are the gateway to train your foundation skill on generating income from the internet. By blogging, you are forced to learn what is necessary for success. So, why blogging? Blogging will :

Encourage you to build relationship with others, online.

Learn about server management skills.

Help you develop your writing skills with ypur personality.

Teach you about personal and entity branding.

Make you learn how to monetize your blog or selling ad space.

Teach you SEO (search engine optimization).

Improve your marketing skill.

After you’ve developed those skills at the advanced level, even going for an offline business will be not that difficult. You can expand your business according to your skill levels. When I learned from Anne Ahira at the beginning, I started with a niche or a particular thing which I like, my hobby. Until now, Many times what I started as my hobby, I learned more and more about that field, and the more I understand the market and the competition. This blog, Anne Ahira, also I started only to record my experiences, sharing my stories about Anne Ahira and Internet marketing. It never intended to be made for money making, but who knows? I am Teddy Siswanto, student of Anne Ahira. I will be writing more and more about internet marketing and blogging. Just few moths ago I found Snap, a search engine that allows you see preview images of search results on a separate viewing panel before you click on them to visit the website. Based on my research I got from internet, I found how credible this search engine was. Not outstanding traffic but somewhat expected from a relatively new but fast growing search engine which saw around 12 million searches in March 2007.

Snap Image Search: Useful Tool for Designers & Bloggers I do however love using Snaps Image Search to look for specific images. The image browsing functionality is superior to the major search engines because it allows for very efficient and fast browsing through the mouse scroll wheel. You can even choose to filter your search by viewing only black and white images. Very cool. The only drawback (or some would say advantage) is the low volume of image results.

For example, an image search for monkey on Snap gives you around 400,000 results while a similar search on Google gives you 3.4 million pictures. Snaps Image Search tool will probably be very useful for bloggers or web designers who need to find that specific image to complement their template design or blog post. Snaps Image Search tool will probably be very useful for bloggers or web designers who need to find that specific image to complement their template design or blog post.

I was pretty upset when I found that the submission form is now, not available anymore. But my bad feeling instantly gone when I found this Anne Ahira blog actually already indexed by Snap. I found a free SERP by Sitening tracker, it provides automated control for SERP rankings on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Simply put in your list of keywords and the SERP tracker will begin to take their positions on Google, Yahoo and Windows Live. By clicking on each keyword and then show you a graph which indicates their ranking so far. I have used other tools to monitor SERP before, but most of them have not been automated, so Sitening tool is really useful and saved me a little time to check on the spot rankings of my words. For now, this tool also offered a free upgrade their Pro SEO plan for the beta, which allows you to have up to 5 profiles, bulk of keywords and monitoring a maximum of 2500 keywords. This SEO tool is fairly simple and easy to use. Recommended if you ever need to automate SERP tracker to monitor your keyword rankings. If you use Internet explorer to browse this Anne Ahira blog, you can see that all the objects on the right sidebar are shifted left. Although some people say it makes even the design more dynamic and interesting; Hey, I didn’t do it on purpose, dude! It was not meant to be that way. You will see this template the best with Mozilla Firefox. Although I am a graphic designer and usually I’m not comfortable with things like that, for now I want to keep it that way. I don’t want to fix it for the time being If you want to experience this anne ahira blog with its best view you can download Mozilla Firefox with Google toolbar.
