Wirausaha dan Keuangan, local Indonesian magazine has held a program called Indonesian Small and Medium Business Entrepreneur Award (ISMBEA) 2007. It was held at Grand Ballroom Hotel Sahid Jakarta, on July 20, 2007. Anne Ahira, an internet marketer from Indonesia who has an international debut, has an opportunity to speak at the opening of this program. She presented a seminar entitled “UKM Goes Online”, talked about online world for entrepreneurs. Many Indonesian still use internet as ‘users’. Anne Ahira said, it is the time for us to use internet as ‘marketers’. There is a major difference between users and marketers when we use internet. The activitieas are basically the same like browsing and chatting, but the difference is, users browse only to get informations while marketers browse for research. Users chat for fun while marketers chat for doing customer support. Enthusiastically, Anne Ahira invited all Indonesian to be marketers, not only users. The audience was also encouraged, even the minister and the staffs. On the same moment, there are awards given to 16 entrepreneurs. The award was given by Menteri Koperasi dan UKM, Mr. Suryadharma Ali. Anne Ahira of course was one of them. Among all the 16, Anne Ahira was the most phenomenal figure as an entrepreneur. After the award was given, Mr. Suryadharma Ali gave a short speech about “Accelerating UKM Business Through IT”. It signifies the importance of internet to build Indonesian entrepreneurship.
