Anne Ahira Happy newyearHappy new year! I want to say to all of you, the all students of Anne Ahira. Today, December 2007 has finally changes into January 2008. It is a time for me again to think back and prepare what to do in 2008. Anne Ahira mania, I always think optimistically, accomplishing the plans I made last year, to do what I failed to do before, and setting goals for the year 2008. Now what in my thinking was : I have one more chance to do something extraordinary. Something that changes my life and everything around me. Looking back on my Anne Ahira website, my other websites and their future, this is the time for me to do a massive changes I believe. Thinking that I was too comfortable, unwilling to change, unwilling to believe that there is a completely different way of doing things. That’s what I say : Too lazy to explore alternatives. 2008 I believe, is the time to evolve. New businesses to set up. Old ones to discard. 2008 will be an incredible year for me. It can be for you too. If you’re truly open to change, it will be a year you’ll never forget. A year you’ll remember.

I haven’t set my goal in 2008. I won’t let goals to distort my experiences doing experiments. For me, it’s better to be flexible, develop my self naturally. No expectations, no disappointments :) As long as you keep moving to the right direction. Goals can be useful but don’t let them control yourself, I say. As I think to myself and did my review and plan, I got a thought that flexibility and willingness to grow is important. Some people say, if you don’t have concrete goals and work towards them, your website will never grow. Well, it’s not totally true. Goals are both the pathway and destination points, but they are also a simply thoughts. Consider to change every time, whenever you have chance to grow. It can be done in a view moment immediately. It can be done in less than ten seconds. Try it. So in 2008, I will be more flexible and open. Growth is essential. Do something beyond realistic or practical thought. If I may refer to Bruce Mau’s tips of growth, there are three points which I think related to what I want to say to all Anne Ahira’s students : Allow events to change you. You have to be willing to grow.

Growth is different from something that happens to you. You produce it. You live it. The prerequisites for growth: the openness to experience events and the willingness to be changed by them. Process is more important than outcome. When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where weve already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where were going, but we will know we want to be there. Begin anywhere. John Cage tells us that not knowing where to begin is a common form of paralysis. His advice: begin anywhere. So all the people of Anne Ahira, I challenge you. What are your goals for 2008? Happy new year! I am Teddy Siswanto and I am a a student of Anne Ahira.
